Ashoka invests in people. Venture is the rigorous search and selection process through which Ashoka finds and supports the world’s leading social entrepreneurs. Ashoka was founded on the Venture model , which remains the heart of Ashoka—the work upon which all of our efforts depend.

Ashoka seeks out and invests in candidates with new solutions to entrenched social problems that will change the way society addresses these issues.

Please note: Ashoka is not a venture capital organization that finances start-ups. Ashoka invests in the social entrepreneur, not the organization.

 

Eligibility Guidelines - Every candidate and nominator should check to see if the candidate meets the basic requirements of the Fellowship's parameters before submitting a nomination.

Selection Criteria - Ashoka maintains a high standard for Fellows to ensure we seek out and elect leading social entrepreneurs.

Selection Process - Candidates undergo a rigorous selection process based on time-tested criteria that has been developed and tested worldwide to identify social entrepreneurs who are changing their field in profound, innovative ways.

Fellowship

Ashoka’s Fellowship program develops and promotes the collective potential of our community of leading social innovators and our intrapreneurial staff to work together to build a globally integrated and competitive citizen sector. A vibrant and robust fellowship, the Ashoka Fellowship is an active, engaged, and dynamic program led by Ashoka Fellows and co-produced by Ashoka staff. Together we are building: Everyone a Changemaker™ society.
